FROM DEATH THROUGH FINAL DISPOSITION
The Decedent Journey With MorgueBoard®
1
Case Creation
Decedent tracking begins when a case is created in MorgueBoard®. Cases can be created through manual entry or automatically upon documentation of death in an external system, like an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
2
Decedent Intake
When a decedent physically arrives to the morgue, digital intake is facilitated through the MorgueBoard® Check-In feature. Timestamps, involved personnel, Positive ID attestation, and storage location are audited while safety prompts are displayed based on dynamics like weight or infection status.
3
Custody & Care
While a decedent is in custody under your care, MorgueBoard® organizes information crucial to care-after-death procedures and responsibilities, tracks statuses, maintains audit trails & timelines, and dynamically enforces rules based on case information.
4
Decedent Release
MorgueBoard® determines a decedent’s eligibility for release by evaluating custom rules, aligned to your organization, in real time. When a disposition agent arrives to take custody over the decedent, handoff is accompanied by the MorgueBoard® Checkout feature with comprehensive auditing.
INDUSTRY-TRUSTED
Client Testimonials
MorgueBoard® has monumentally improved how we care for our deceased pediatric patients. Having initially relied on a paper log tracking system, the automated real-time MorgueBoard® dashboard allows key Pathology, Nursing and Admitting personnel to know and track the whereabouts of every morgue patient, as well as their precious belongings. Medical examiners, autopsies, tissue donation procedures and funeral home interactions are performed much more efficiently with information shared with appropriate personnel. In addition, the “Days in Morgue” counter has proved invaluable to our hospital teams in helping us preemptively address delays in funeral home communications, resulting in a significantly improved patient release turnaround time. Lastly, all of us are grateful to MorgueBoard® for the huge decrease in calls, pages and emails! What a great product! Thank You!
